Privacy
This site is run by Plainlight Studio, a small independent studio on Washington's Eastside, USA. Questions about privacy: hello@plainlightstudio.com.
What we collect
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, business name (optional) and message you type in. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in your email.
The site has no accounts, no newsletter sign-up and no payment forms.
How we use it
We use your details only to reply to your message and talk about your project. We don't sell or rent your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we won't add you to a mailing list.
Services that handle your message
- Netlify hosts this website. When you send the contact form, Netlify stores your submission in its system so we can read it, and emails us a copy. Netlify is based in the United States. See Netlify's privacy statement.
- Akismet, operated by Automattic, is used by Netlify to check form submissions for spam. Your form information may be processed as part of that check. See Akismet's privacy page.
- Google Workspace runs our business email. Form notifications and any emails you send us are stored in our Google Workspace mailbox. See Google's privacy policy.
Like most web hosts, Netlify may automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use this information to identify you.
How long we keep it
Form submissions stored by Netlify and our email conversations are kept and managed separately.
- Netlify form submissions: we review and delete submissions stored in Netlify at least once a month.
- Email conversations: if your inquiry doesn't turn into a project, we delete the conversation within 12 months of our last contact. If we work together, we keep project emails for as long as we need them for the work and our records.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it doesn't load fonts, scripts or embeds from other companies. Everything you see is served from our host.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@plainlightstudio.com. We'll review your request and respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some information where we're required to keep records.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
